The Sweet Black-Eyed Susan (*Rudbeckia subtomentosa), also called Sweet Coneflower, features bright yellow, daisylike flowers with dark, chocolatey centers, growing 3-5 feet tall with fuzzy, often three-lobed leaves, blooming late summer into fall with a distinct sweet, spicy scent from its developing seeds, attracting many pollinators. This hardy perennial thrives in full sun and various soils, providing nectar and seeds for birds and insects, making it a great addition to prairies and gardens.
