Big Leaf Aster
Big Leaf Aster
The Bigleaf Aster (Eurybia macrophylla) is a woodland native known for its large, heart-shaped basal leaves and late-summer to fall clusters of pale blue or white flowers with yellow centers, forming effective groundcovers in shady, moist to dry soils by spreading via rhizomes. While the showy foliage creates a dense mat, the flowers are often sparse, making it valued for its lush greenery and ability to stabilize shaded slopes.
