Maximillian Sunflower
Maximillian Sunflower
The Maximilian Sunflower (Helianthus maximiliani) is a tall, perennial sunflower with numerous bright yellow, 3-inch blooms that appear in late summer to fall on long, leafy stems, forming dense colonies that attract pollinators and birds, making it great for wildlife but needing space in gardens. Its distinctive features include long, narrow, pale green leaves that are rough to the touch, often folded or curved, and it spreads vigorously via rhizomes.
